What you can and can't do with DataGauge.
A plain-English summary of the agreement for using DataGauge. By creating an account or sending data to the API, you agree to these terms.
Effective July 18, 2026
- Send events and subscription state from any app you own or operate.
- Read your own metrics back over the API and use those numbers anywhere: your pricing page, admin panel, or investor updates.
- Track apps you run on behalf of clients, and exclude them from your own portfolio totals.
- Delete an organization from the dashboard whenever you like, which takes its apps, keys, members, and invitations with it.
- Send data you have no right to collect, or that violates another person's privacy or your own agreements with your users.
- Use the Service to attack, overload, reverse-engineer, or probe the API beyond documented rate limits.
- Resell, sublicense, or white-label the Service as your own metrics product.
- Send us special-category personal data (health, biometric, government IDs). User identifiers must be opaque strings you choose, not sensitive PII.

The Service
DataGauge is a metrics API and portfolio dashboard. You send events and subscription state to our ingest endpoint, and we compute and store metrics (MAU, signups, revenue, MRR, and related figures) that you can view in the dashboard and read back over the API.
Your account
You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your server keys secret. A leaked server key can write events and money-affecting data on your behalf; rotate it immediately if exposed. Public keys are write-limited by design and cannot record revenue.
Your data and your events
You own the events, objects, and identifiers you send. You choose what a "user" is: a cuid, a Firebase uid, an email, a license key, any opaque string. We do not require, and ask you not to send, sensitive personal data. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to collect and transmit whatever you send us.
We process your data only to provide the Service: computing your metrics, serving them back to you, and keeping the system secure and reliable.
Acceptable use
Don't use the Service to break the law, infringe others' rights, or degrade the platform for other customers. We may rate-limit, suspend, or terminate accounts that abuse the ingest API, attempt to circumvent limits, or send prohibited data.
Availability and changes
DataGauge is offered on an early-access basis. We work to keep it reliable, but the Service is provided without an uptime guarantee, and we may add, change, or remove features as it evolves. Where a change materially reduces what you rely on, we'll give reasonable notice.
Third-party components
The Service integrates with third-party providers, for hosting, event storage and analytics, sign-in, billing, and email. Each one is named on our privacy policy. Where you connect your own billing provider, such as Stripe or Polar, your use of that provider is governed by its own terms, which apply independently.
No warranty
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. Metrics are computed on a best-effort basis and should not be treated as audited financial records.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DataGauge SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, OR PROFITS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time, and delete your organizations from the dashboard. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms. To close an account outright, or to ask for a copy of your data, email hello@datagauge.dev: we do both by hand rather than from a button, and we will tell you when it is done. Events age out 90 days after they happened either way.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the operator's country of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
